Summer break is officially over for School District 6 students. Some parents might have taken a sigh of relief this morning to know their kids will be learning and busy again, for some of the kids, well, their emotions were mixed.

Some shed tears while others were happy to shed their parents, but the Greeley and Evans children who ventured off for their first day of school today all had at list one thing in common — there are now only 168 days left until summer vacation.

Nearly 20,000 first- through 12th-graders began the 2011-2012 school year equipped with pencil and paper and Kleenex and flash drives at one of 24 schools in Greeley-Evans School District 6.

Kindergartners begin classes Tuesday.
