There is magic in Steamboat.

It emanates from the aspen groves, flows as hot water from the Earth, and can be seen in the surreal views from many vantage points throughout the area.

One of the best places to take in the incredible view and to truly feel that magic is on the Oasis Sundeck at the top of the Gondola.

USAToday took notice, and named it to its list of 'Summer suppers: Top places to dine with a view.'

Their article refers to views during the summer. I don't have a ton of summer photos there because I am a winter guy, but you get the idea.

It joins Strawberry Hill in Jamaica, the Roundhouse Lodge in Whistler, B.C., the Walig Hut at Gstaad Palace in Gstaad, Switzerland and a few others.

The Yampa River Valley is wide, fertile, green in the summer and stark white in the winter.

I've marveled over it many times, slowing my speed on my skis to stop and stare at the spectacular scenery.

There are a lot of great views in Colorado, but Steamboat's elevation and special location that gives it weather like no other spot in Colorado make it uniquely beautiful.
