Trevor Siemian's performance against the Los Angeles Rams on Saturday night sealed the deal for him earning the starting quarterback position with the Denver Broncos during their season opener.

Coach Kubiak made the announcement regarding the quarterback decision during a team meeting that took place on Monday morning. Prior to making the choice, Kubiak said that it wouldn’t be just one practice, one game, one week or even one month that determined the winner, but rather having the total package, as well as knowledge of the playbook and command in the huddle – all of which Siemian consistently proved himself to have as a player over the past several weeks. Siemian remained calm, composed and comfortable during both preseason games that he started in, and against the Rams he finished the night 10-of-17 for 122 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Rookie Paxton Lynch was featured as the No. 2 quarterback during Saturday's game, and Mark Sanchez did not play at all. The Broncos came out 17-9 on top of the Rams.

We'll see Siemian take the field as official starting QB when the defending Super Bowl champs kick off the regular season against the Carolina Panthers at home in the Mile High Stadium on September 8.
