The Boulder County Clerk has been acting against the wishes of Colorado's Attorney General, and a standoff is brewing.

It could be resolved today. According the Associated Press, Republican Attorney General John Suthers is suing the Boulder County clerk for ignoring a federal court stay on a recent gay marriage ruling and issuing same-sex marriage licenses. Suthers says the licenses are invalid because marriage must be between a man and a woman. Boulder County Clerk Hillary Hall says she is justified by a federal appeals court ruling last month that Utah isn't permitted to ban marriage based on gender.

We'll see what happens. In the meantime, what are your thoughts on the subject?
