The Clearview Library District in Windsor, Colorado has a policy that asks patrons to refrain from “carrying weapons of any sort except by law enforcement officers.” Well, the Rocky Mountain Gun Owners group isn't happy about said policy, and plan to protest it.

The whole issue started after the gun owners' rights group sent the library district a cease and desist letter on Friday. Library staff allegedly told a patron to leave on Aug. 20 because she was carrying a concealed weapon. Although Windsor police say they did not receive a report about the Aug. 20 incident at the library.

Regardless of that incident, the gun-rights activists are expected to attend a Windsor library board meeting tonight (Aug. 28) to protest the system's weapons policy. They claim the policy violates state law. The weapons issue is not on the board's agenda, but the activists hope the matter will be added.
