We're in the process of searching for candidates for a couple of openings in our organization. It is always a love/hate process for me. More love than hate. I love meeting new people, learning about them, trying to find out what makes them tick. I guess the “hate” part is just the risk involved. There’s a lot at stake. “Northern Colorado media group seeking perfect person to join our team,” is no easy spot to fill.

I guess that’s why I narrow it down to one thing. Well, to be honest it’s one thing, assuming basic requirements are met, but the one thing is simple, and in my eyes more important than anything else.

Will the candidate add to the overall energy, enthusiasm and success of our team. That’s my bottom line.

I run myself through that filter too. Am I adding to the overall energy, enthusiasm, and success of our team? Regardless of your 'team,' it’s a good question for all of us to ask from time to time.

Please submit resume and salary requirements (with enthusiasm). Really.
