Scam Alert: Fake Water Tester Getting Access To Greeley Homes

A man claiming to be a water tester has been gaining access to Greeley-area homes. Always remember to be cautious of who you let in your home.

According to KDVR, a possibly Hispanic man in his 50's with peppered hair has been knocking on people's doors claiming to be a Greeley city worker there to test their water and give them some conservation tips and then ask to look around inside. Apparently the imposter tried to get inside the home of an actual city worker who alerted officials.

The man has tried to get into homes on weekends and without appoints — both of which actual city workers never do.

Stuff like this is scary, I think most people wouldn't question someone with a clipboard saying they're there to check out water problems, but this guy could very easily be scoping out homes for much more sinister reasons.
