Law enforcement has shut down a vital section of I-25 due to a shooting death that happened around 2:45 a.m. this morning.

According to Fox 31-Denver, the shooting occurred as a vehicle was crossing over the University Boulevard bridge when it then veered off the road and hit a wall on the ramp from University. The shooting victim, a male whose name and age has not been released, was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The area of focus is Southbound I-25 and the on-ramp from University Boulevard. There are no details or a description of the shooter at this time. The investigation continues and that portion of the interstate is expected to remain closed through the morning commute.
