A small airplane was forced to make an emergency landing in Weld County early Tuesday afternoon, after running out of fuel mid-flight to the Platte Valley Airport.

On April 25, the Weld County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call around 11:45 a.m. of a single engine plane that had made an unexpected landing in a field in the area of WCR 8 and WCR 45, east of I-76 near Hudson, Colorado. The "Great Lakes" biplane, carrying two passengers, was en route from Centennial Airport. Fortunately, neither of the passengers were injured during the incident and the plane also did not suffer any damage. The Sheriff's Office assisted with refueling the aircraft and pushed it out onto WCR45, where the passengers could then continue their flight to Platte Valley Airport.
