Peyton Manning will start at quarterback when the Broncos take the field in the AFC Divisional Playoffs on January 17, 2016.

Why? Because Peyton Manning, of course.

Nobody should take this as a knock on Brock Osweiler, most importantly Brock himself. I haven't looked into his head, but I would imagine that he isn't going to feel many insecurities because the team wants to go with a first ballot hall of famer and one of the best quarterbacks of all time instead of him in their playoff push.

When you have what people are calling the best quarterback of all time on the roster, you go with him,. Unless you are certain that he is, as some think, past his playing prime and not able to be successful anymore.

The injuries Manning has been dealing with keeps the hope alive that he is still able to sling it like he used to. While he has had quite a few poor performances, that's to be expected if his bodily functions aren't at 100%.

However, Brock will remain on the ready, because if Manning doesn't come out slinging impressively, due to his injuries or otherwise, Osweiler will probably get the call.

The Broncos probably won't wait too long to make a substitution at this very integral part of the season. Obviously, NFL playoffs are win or go home, and Bronco fans want a Super Bowl.

Most would agree that Peyton is probably the best bet, but the 'probably' still exists in my mind.

I, for one, hope that the Peyton we know and love takes the field, and gives us the exhilaration that we've enjoyed in the past few years. If not, go Brock!

Until and if the Steelers arrive, that is. Sorry, the author (me) is from Pittsburgh. :)
