The speculation about Peyton Manning coming back for another year is officially over but the question was would he take less money to play for the Denver Broncos.

I know there were just as many that thought Peyton Manning should retire as there were yearning for at least one more year. Personally, I was on both sides of the fence. One side being this won't last forever so let's get busy worrying about the next decade and not next year. Start grooming a new QB now and let's get on with it. The other side of my fence was saying he is the only chance the Denver Broncos have at getting back to the Super Bowl in the immediate future.

Doesn't matter which side of the fence you were on at this point.  All speculation is over and Manning will be back next season, and he's so serious about playing in San Francisco on February 7, 2016, that his restructured contract is all but signed at this point. In addition to the new contract, the field general for the Broncos will be taking what is reported as a $4 million pay cut as well.

The future Hall of Fame QB has earned around $250 million in salary alone over his career, the $15 million he will be getting this season is like vacation money. Sidebar: There are incentives in the new contract for him to still make more.

Peyton Manning is a classy man, player, human being in general. This deal had to be done one way or the other with free agency looming on the horizon and it was critical for the Broncos to know one way or the other because his salary dictates in large the money they can spend on free agents.

Get ready for the ride...
