Pedestrian Bridge Being Added Over Railroad Tracks in Fort Collins
Construction workers will lift a pedestrian bridge into place today that will span the railroad tracks in Fort Collins.
The bridge is part of the city’s Mason Corridor MAX project, and links Whole Foods Market and nearby shops with the federal center west across the tracks.
Lifting the bridge into position with two cranes will take several hours. BNSF Railway has given the city a six-hour window in which to complete the bridge lift. The lift couldn't begin until the last train of the morning passed through the city at about 8 a.m.
It'll cost $1.25 to ride MAX which will be operating this spring.
