I wouldn't have asked the Colorado State women's basketball players that I interviewed if they thought they'd break a record this year.

That isn't a speculative plank they want to walk. I mean, there is a difference between confident and silly. Not many college athletes think of those things.

But I wondered what they would have said if I asked them if they thought Colorado State would go on a 20-0 run? That's a lot of wins. That is not easy!

The last time it was done was, according to the Loveland Reporter Herald, during Becky Hammon's playing days at CSU. That squad had 19 wins in a row, and Hammon has since become, with a coaching job in the NBA for the San Antonio Spurs, one of the most accomplished women in basketball ever.

Well, the 2015-16 Rams have topped that success, and with a 23-1 record, expectations are going to be high going into the Mountain West Tournament and more in the coming months.

I caught up with some of the personalities that are making up this year's team at the beginning of the season, shot around with them a little bit, and did whatever I could to try to distract from the fact that I had baby stained clothes.

They were cool, confident, fun, great shooters, and a crew whose success doesn't really surprise me.
