Pat Benatar has long been acknowledged as the leading female rock vocalist of the 80s. She won four consecutive Grammy awards between 1980 and 1983. A lot of that success is in thanks to her husband and musical partner Neil Giraldo. There are coming to Boulder on March 21, 2017, for one great show!

If Billy Joel is the most famous musician from Long Island, Pat Benatar has to come in a very close second. She’s had so many hit songs, from ‘Heartbreaker’ and ‘Hit Me With Your Best Shot’, to ‘Love Is a Battlefield’ and ‘All Fired Up. All are great powerful songs. It seems the only slow song she has had is ‘We Belong’- another great tune!

As Pat’s career was just starting to take off, she was introduced to Neil Giraldo. Neil had been the guitarist for Rick Derringer- a job he beat out 200 other guitarists for. Once Pat and Neil started working together, there was no stopping them. Did you know that In 1981 Benatar and Giraldo were the first female and first guitarist, respectively, to ever appear on MTV? The video for ‘You Better Run’ was the second video the channel ever played, right after ‘Video Killed the Radio Star.’

I remember when the video for ‘Shadows of the Night’ came out. That thing was epic. She played a fighter pilot for the allies. Might I add, a SEXY fighter pilot for the allies. I was glued to the TV waiting for that thing to play again!

Pat and Neil married in 1982, and they’ve been touring for years. Why stop? They love doing it and the crowds love them! They are currently out on their ‘Very Intimate Acoustic Evening’ tour and it stops in Boulder on March 21, 2017 at The Boulder Theater!

Tickets for the show, starting at $55 up to $75, go on sale November 18, 2016, through The Boulder Theater!
