The Summer road work season may officially be upon us.

The Coloradoan reports Xcel Energy is replacing a natural gas pipeline running through Fort Collins, a project that's expected to run into September.

The project shuts down eastbound Drake Road between Silver Creek Drive and Timberline Road for the next two weeks, starting today (April 21st).

The work in Fort Collins and Loveland is part of Xcel's West Main project, which is replacing 77 miles of aged 8-inch pipeline between Westminster and Wyoming with a 16-inch, high-pressure line.

Does this closure affect your daily commute?  Which alternate routes do you plan to use?  Post them in the comments!
