Whether we'd like to believe it or not, our children will be returning to school next month. So as we wrap up our summer vacations, it's not a bad idea to begin preparing for the first day of school.

Many popular items required for your child to bring with them to their first day of school include pocket folders, colored pencils, crayons, scissors, watercolor paints, glue sticks, markers, and notebooks. That said, every school in our community has a varying list, and some individual teachers or grades may have lists unique to their given curriculum - for example, first graders at Shepardson Elementary School in Fort Collins need one pocket folder for each of the following colors: purple, blue, red, and green. Because of this, you'll want to check with your child's school's list.

Like Shepardson, every school has their back-to-school supplies lists uploaded to TeacherLists.com. To find your school, you simply go to the homepage, click on "Find a List" at the top, and type in your school's zip code. Multiple schools may pop up, and each school might have more than one list. Once you find your school, determine which list you need (Shepardson's is separated by grade), click on the list, and there you go! The lists also give you the option to print them out, which can often help make shopping easier for you.

You might also notice on TeacherLists.com that Target coupons will keep popping up on your screen. Target has a partnership with the website, but by no means are you required to shop at Target for your school supplies.
