There was an officer involved shooting in Evans late last night. On Sunday night at 11:21 P.M., Evans and LaSalle Police Officers responded to Paradise Billiards in Evans on a report of a male outside with a gun. When officers arrived, there was a man outside with a weapon.

According to the Evans Police Department:

Officers ordered the male to drop the weapon. The suspect did not comply with officer’s orders and then raised the weapon towards the officers in a threatening manner. Officers were forced to shoot him. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment and later died from his wounds. His name is not being released at this time.

The Greeley Police Department will be conducting the investigation regarding this incident at the request of the Evans Police Department. The officer involved in the shooting has been place on administrative leave.
