A 27-year-old man from Nunn died at the scene of a collision Monday night at the intersection of Weld County Road 43 and Colo. 392. Phillip Benson was killed about 9 p.m. when the vehicle he was traveling in crashed into another vehicle.

According to the Greeley Tribune, it appears that Benson failed to stop at a stop sign and drove into the path of a Sierra driven by Roy Holmstrom of Ontonagon, Mich. Holmstrom hit the right side of Benson’s vehicle. Holmstrom was transported to North Colorado Medical Center with serious injuries.

Benson is the 35th person to die on Weld County roads so far this year. He had three young daughters five, two, and one.
