Ladies of Northern Colorado are encouraged to make a difference by taking part in Habitat for Humanity's 10th annual National Women Build Week, happening this year from May 6-14. During this week-long span, more than 17,000 women across the country will be devoting their time to help build safe and affordable housing in their local communities. In our area, Fort Collins Habitat for Humanity will join forces with an all-female, volunteer construction crew to help with a future home in the new Harmony Cottages neighborhood. The National Charity League will also be assisting by painting studs and hosting a ceremonial ground blessing for the Habitat home. Actual construction of the house is expected to begin in June.

In another effort to empower females in the Northern Colorado community, Lowe’s will be hosting a women-only power tools clinic from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 11. This clinic is open to the public and is for women ages 16 and up. Lowe's has donated almost $2 million to this year’s National Women Build Week, including a $5,000 store gift card to Fort Collins Habitat for Humanity.
