Talk about living in a politically correct world. Nebraska school officials are now afraid of offending kids by calling them 'boys' or 'girls' because they may be transgender.

The Nebraska public school system in Lincoln has sent all schools new instructions on how to refer to the kids in their classrooms.

If it weren't so sad, it would be scary. They are not to call kids "boys or girls, ladies and gentlemen, you guys" or anything to identify the sex of the child.

Teachers are now being instructed to refer to kids as "purple penguins," because I assume the color purple encompasses all lifestyles? But I think now kids, I mean purple penguins, will now wonder who is who because young kids haven't a clue about transgender anything, so they will assume a purple penguin is a girl and boys will soon demand their own color penguin. Furthermore, who has ever seen a purple penguin anyway?

So now, instead of teachers having kids line up for lunch or recess in boy and girl lines, they are to line them up according to lines with those who like skateboards, or dog or cats, etc. Teachers have also been instructed to not allow students to ever say 'boy or girl' because it's wrong.

Are you kidding me?

I understand that schools do not have a political or religious policy, but what happened to common sense. Boys go to the boys' restroom and girls go to the girls' restroom, PERIOD! Isn't that how we describe boys and girls; as boys and girls? The body parts are very different and pretty easy to figure out in a school setting.

This has to be the most absurd thing I have ever heard in my entire life, or at least one of them, but it ranks right at the top of the list for sure. Seriously, what is our society coming to when a school is no longer allowed to call a boy a boy or a girl a girl because it might offend someone?

The outcome of this will not be good, and it's not good for the children either and will only cause more confusion and strife down the road... Can't wait to see how this unfolds in the weeks and months to come.
