I'm about a week and a half into the Dare to Lose Challenge over at Miramont Lifestyle Fitness; and I'll be honest, it's a huge challenge.  This first leg of the journey has taught me one very important lesson, though...

...know your limits.

When I first started going to training sessions and fitness classes, I pushed myself way too hard.  I've pulled muscles, had a minor asthma attack, and even almost thrown up once.  Then, finally, it sunk in.

It's my trainer's job to push me to my limits, but it's my job to know what my limits are.  If I physically can't do something, or if I'm feeling dizzy or wheezy, I just own up to it.  I had to realize that I'm not going to be in super-great shape right away; and more importantly, there's no shame in admitting that.

So if you're like me, on the first steps of a fitness journey, just know your limits!  As long as you continue pushing yourself, things will get easier.  You will get better.  I promise!
