The mountain lion was first sighted around Lee Martinez Park on Tuesday afternoon around 4pm. The big cat, continued west and cut south until it hid under a utility trailer behind the Gasamat, at Shields and Vine.

Division of Wildlife officers prepared to tranquilize the mountain lion, due to the proximity to populated areas and the number of people gathering to get a look at it.

Before officers could dart the cat it bolted west along towards the foothills outside the city.
