Air support has been called in to assist in fighting a 100- to 150-acre fire burning in Rocky Mountain National Park, southwest of Estes Park, the Coloradoan reports.

The fire is about two miles West of the Fern Lake trailhead.  Hikers and campers are currently being evacuated.

Roads are being closed in the area, and campers from the Moraine Park Campground about 3.5 miles from the fire aren’t being allowed to return to retrieve their camping equipment, according to national park radio traffic.

The burn area is not accessible by ground vehicle.  No structures are currently threatened.
