Monster Eye Spaghetti with Slithering Snake Sausage [RECIPE]
Tis’ the season to put a little fright in the night. Let’s make something spooky for dinner.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
1 lb spaghetti noodles, 1 1/2 cups of green olives with pimentos (reserve half of the brine/liquid they’re in and chop a cup of them), 3 cloves of garlic (sliced), red pepper flakes, olive oil and s/p to taste
PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER:
Start by boiling your pasta per package instructions then put about 2 Tbs of olive oil in a skillet and add garlic, cook for about 2 minutes, add the chopped olives and cook for another 2 minutes now ladle in two cups of pasta water and the liquid from the olives that you had reserved and red pepper flakes (a little if you are afraid of heat, more if you’re not), turn down the heat and let simmer for about 5 minutes. Add your cooked pasta to the skillet and stir to cook with sauce, now you can add the whole olives and salt and pepper to taste.
For the Slithering Snake Sausage get a good packaged sausage, maybe a spicy Italian, keeping it whole, brown it on all sides till heated through. When heated take two pimentos from your green olives and place them as eyes on your sausage, you can secure them with toothpicks, just don’t forget they are in there.
When plating this dish, use a large platter, put the Monster Eye Spaghetti in the center and coil the Slithering Snake Sausage around the platter… serve and if you aren’t to scared, Enjoy!
