Mick Jagger To Perform on Grammys

Mick Jagger, front man for The Rolling Stones as well as a successful solo artist has done many things in his life except one. He has not performed on the Grammy's stage. That is of course until this year’s 53^rd Grammy Awards Ceremony taking place Sunday, February 13^th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Now before the phone calls and emails start “rolling” in, yes Mick did perform on the Grammys once before. In 1986 Mick and the boys (The Rolling Stones) performed via satellite in London after being receiving The Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award. Sorry in my opinion that doesn’t count.

Mick will team up with soul singer Saadiq and his band to honor one of his longtime idols, Solomon Burke, also a Grammy winner as part of the Grammy’s “in Memoriam” tribute. Burke died last October at age 70. Among Burke’s hits was the classic, “Everybody Needs Somebody To Love”, a song covered by The Rolling Stones in 1965.

Other artists scheduled to perform at the awards include, Lady Antebellum, Muse, Eminen, Cee Lo Green, Lady Gaga, Miranda Lambert, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Gwyneth Paltrow, and the Jim Henson Company Muppets. The ceremony is Sunday February 13^th starting at 7pm on CBS4.
