The first baby born in Colorado - and the first for UCHealth - in 2016 arrived just seconds after midnight.

Cora Marie Menges was born at exactly 12:00 a.m. January 1, 2016, weighing a healthy 7 pounds, 10 ounces, and was 21 inches long. She was delivered at UCHealth's Memorial Hospital North in Colorado Springs

"We had joked about it all day - that maybe she'll be born on the 31st of December for a tax deduction," mother Hanna Menges told Denver7.

Cora's father and Minnesota native Micah Menges tells the Denver Post he already has one big hope and dream for his daughter: "She better be a Packers fan." [Author's note: What a blow to the Vikings!]
