Lots of rain has saturated the ground again around our local rivers closing roads and much of the bike/walking trail system. Please remain cautious.

  • The Recreation Trail underpasses at Taft Ave., 1st Street, Railroad Ave., S. US Hwy. 287 and E. US Hwy. 34 are CLOSED due to high water from spring run-off. The underpasses will remain closed this week (or until the water level drops on the Big Thompson River and the Chubbuck ditch). The run-off is caused by the weekend rainfall and the predicted higher temperatures in the mountains this week. Although the underpasses may not have standing water in them, unknown hazards may exist from the silt and debris left over from the heavy rains. Please take caution and do not enter the underpasses as unsafe conditions may exist for all trail users.
  • The following road are closed: County Line Road (WCR 13) at Poudre River, 7th Street (WCR 17) at River Place Drive, Riverplace Drive at 7th Street, Jacoby Road between County Line Road (WCR13/LCR 1) and LCR3. The following parks/trails are also closed: Poudre Pooch Park, Oxbow Disc Golf Course, Eastman Park - SW fields and south of Poudre River, Poudre River Trail - 7th Street to Hwy 392, Poudre River Trail - west Hwy 257.
  • Many portions of the trails near the Cache La Poudre River are closed and will remain closed till waters subside.
