‘Senior-Alternatives-IN-Transportation’- SAINT- is a program that’s been around Loveland and Fort Collins for over 30 years. I’m surprised that they are in need of drivers; it seems like there should be plenty of folks with a few hours to spare each week!

Imagine having an older family member who lived far away. Come to find out, that family member couldn’t get to the doctor for an appointment, because the service they use doesn’t have enough volunteer drivers to get them there.  You’d be upset, right? Well, that’s what’s happening to seniors and others in Loveland and Fort Collins who benefit from the SAINT program.

SAINT provides rides to persons over the age of 60 and persons with disabilities who are unable to drive. They’ve been in operation since 1983. In 2014, they provided 26,000 rides. That’s a lot. It shows how important a program like this is!  However important, it takes people like you and me, volunteering our time and vehicle to get folks to places they need to be.

SAINT is seeking more volunteers!  To be a SAINT volunteer you just have to have a car, a clean driver’s license and the desire to help your neighbors!  They are pretty flexible on shifts- and they reimburse you for mileage.

Think about it- then get involved!  You’d want someone to help out YOUR family member, right!
