Demolition and remodel is underway at what used to be the home of Adelita’s Mexican Restaurant, near the corner of 5th Street and Jefferson in Downtown Loveland. Adelita’s had a good stretch there but decided to shutter earlier this year, after nearly three decades.

People wondered, ‘What will they put there, now?’ The Loveland Reporter-Herald reported the story this week of what’s going in. It’s going to be a NEW restaurant- one with its own brewery!

It will be called A.K.A. Kitchen. They hope to be open in the spring of 2018, with eventually having a nano-brewery in the rear.  The executive chef of A.K.A Kitchen will be Loveland Native, Evan Shaffer. Evan’s dad, Bob Shaffer (along with a business partner) owns the building now. Evan most-recently worked at three award-winning kitchens in San Diego, so he brings great experience to the new Downtown venture.

One of the best parts of the NEW place, is that it will hold something OLD.  A.K.A. Kitchen plans to use the old neon ‘Adelita’s’ sign (above) within the décor inside!
