It's an epic battle for pens, pencils, paper, and all things kids and teachers need for the school year. Two Northern Colorado hotels are competing to collect the most supplies for teachers in the Thompson and Poudre School Districts.

The Best Western Plus in Loveland (5542 E US Highway 34) will be representing the Thompson School District in collecting donated supplies while the Best Western University Inn (914 S College Ave) will be representing the Poudre District.

According to the Reporter-Herald, businesses can sign up host donation drop-off boxes which will then be delivered to the hotels by August 31st. Donations at the hotels are also accepted.

Suggested items to donate include spiral notebooks, glue, dry erase markers, sticky notes, resealable sandwich bags, eraser caps, and non-perishable healthy snacks.

The two hotels will determine which Best Western collected the most school supplies.
