Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred early Wednesday morning in Loveland.

According to a news release  from the Larimer County Sheriff's Office, deputies and officers with Loveland Police Department responded to a residence in the 1900 block of Morning Drive at approximately 12:18 a.m. Wednesday on a report that an adult male was stabbed with a knife.

Upon arrival, deputies found the 29-year-old male victim, who had non-life threatening lacerations on his back and shoulders. The Loveland man was treated by EMS at the scene.

The suspect is identified as Russell Jent, 61, of Loveland exited the home, and was taken into custody and booked into the Larimer County Jail for second degree assault, menacing, and 2 counts of violation of restraining order.

This is an ongoing investigation. Charges are merely an accusation and Jent is presumed innocent until, and unless, proven guilty.
