A major development involving a theater, Olympic size pool, luxury apartments, shopping, restaurants, and more is being planned near The Ranch in Loveland.

The Loveland Reporter-Herald reports developer Water Valley Land Co. will develop the 90 acres of land it owns within city limits north of Crossroads Boulevard between I-25 and Fairgrounds Avenue. The $500 million development, named Brands at the Ranch, will progress over the next 2 and a half years.

"I see a pretty significant first phase because the projects are being recognized as the right place at the right time," said Water Valley Land Co. developer, Martin Lind. "We're having pretty good success with tenant sign-ups and interest."

As for tenants, 3 have already been announced.

The developer of Rainforest Cafe and T-REX Cafe concepts, Steve Schussler, is designing 2 restaurant "attractions:" Zi Imperial Kitchen, serving Chinese, Japanese, Thai, and Korean fusion cuisine, and Winter Wonderland, which will feature Christmas decor year-round including sleigh rides, snowball fights, and good ol' comfort food.

A third restaurant, Tucanos Brazilian Grill, will offer skewer-grilled meat, veggies, and fresh salads at the Brands at the Ranch.

A 12-screen IMAX movie theater is also planned to open, as well as open-air upscale, lifestyle shopping with "first-to-market, unique retailers," several hotels, 825 luxury apartment units, and a facility with 3 ice rinks and an Olympic size swimming pool.

"It's probably going to be recognized as the best in the nation for this type of facility," Lind told the Reporter-Herald of the skating and swimming center. "People who have seen (the plan) say it's world class."

Also, could a cluster of radio stations be part of the development?

Well, I can't really speak for Townsquare Media of Northern Colorado, but I will say it would be pretty nice if we could move our radio stations to a fancy building at the Brands at the Ranch. *wink, wink*
