Loveland Cracks Down on Ice Cream Trucks
The City of Loveland is cracking down on the drivers of ice cream trucks who have been violating a citywide ban. The owners thought they were complying when they bought a sales tax license. However, According to the Loveland Reporter-Herald, drivers have been told if they are found selling within the city limits again, police will impound the vehicle. The Loveland municipal code states "No vendor shall conduct any business out of any motor vehicle, stand, cart or otherwise upon the street portion of any public right-of-way." It was enacted in 1985 and re-adopted in 2010 due to door-to-door salespeople who did not acquire the proper permits to sell within the city.
