Sure a big juicy burger is important, but for me it’s all about slathering on lots of ketchup, mustard, and Miracle Whip. As much as I enjoy a summertime hot dog from the cart in Old Town, it would be nothing without chopped onions and ketchup spilling on to my shirt. And I love shrimp, but it’s most important role is that of a delivery device for the cocktail sauce.

A lot of people will tell you, ‘that it’s the little things in life that matter most,’ or, ‘the best things in life are free,’ (and they rarely are.) I’m sure you’ve heard that, ‘it’s the journeys, not the destinations in life that matter most.’ Blah, blah, blah. I think what they are trying to say is, “Life is all about the condiments.” They just can’t seem to find the right words.

So today I go forth, paying attention to all the condiments in my life. I have a lot of them, we all do. And the more we take time to appreciate the condiments, give thanks for the condiments in our lives, and take some time to really enjoy the condiments; the better off we’ll all be.

My little tarter sauce just walked in and brought me a cup of coffee. Life is good.
