Learn about Windsor’s grisliest double murder with ‘The Way It Was: Halloween Murders’

It's one of the biggest unsolved crimes in Windsor's history: the Sorenson Halloween murders. Owners of a jewelry store, Doris and Allen Sorenson were murdered in their Windsor home in 1984 and so much mystery has surrounded the case that many believe the details might include a satanist cult.

When it comes to true crime, thanks to podcasts like Last Podcast on the Left and My Favorite Murder as well as documentaries like The Staircase and Making a Murderer, armchair investigating has become commonplace and sometimes even encouraged.

Want to do a little investigating yourself and learn more about the mystery? The Coloradoan and the Windsor-Severance Library are hosting an event on October 30 inviting the community to come by and talk about the Windsor Halloween Murders with local authorities. From the event listing, they say the event will allow you to:

"Hear interviews from friends and neighbors of the couple, see the decades-old newspaper headlines that shocked the community and learn what the Windsor Police Department has done in recent years to try to close the case." Source
