But today the Larimer Sheriff's Office is investigating a report that is close to home, in the 5500-block of Crossroads Boulevard. (In the Loveland/Windsor area.)

UPDATE 2:27PM: According to the Larimer Sheriff on Twitter, the suspicious package turned out to be nothing more than a sack of phone books. Wow, I am glad it didn't turn out to be any real threat, but talk about a major hassle for emergency personnel.Better safe than sorry though.

ORIGINAL STORY:

According to a press release from the Sheriff's Office,

Larimer County Sheriff's Office has responded to the report of a suspicious package that was left in the 5500-block of Crossroads Boulevard.  Roads in the immediate area have been shut down.

We'll update this story as we get more details.

Hopefully this turns out to be nothing of consequence.

According to the Loveland Reporter-Herald, the package was left near the Western Area Power Administration facility in northeast Loveland. Crossroads Boulevard was closed west of Byrd Drive just after noon and traffic on northbound Rocky Mountain Boulevard was being diverted.
