Lady Gaga is in high demand both in and out of music. Beyond expanding her fashion horizons, the pop star is reportedly in talks with Oscar-winning director James Cameron about her first role on the big screen.

According to Def Pen Radio, a source said: “The idea is to use the very latest 3-D technology to bring Gaga to the big screen but in a very different way. Gaga is the kind of strong female role model Jim loves to have on film and there are some very exciting ideas being drawn up to make it happen.”

This isn’t the only rumor about Gaga’s first foray into film. In May, The Mirror reported that famed director Quentin Tarantino had his sights set on casting the singer in his next movie. Neither report has been confirmed as fact.

It’s only a matter of time before Gaga is tapped for a feature film. The pop diva has displayed her thespian talents on stage throughout her Monster Ball tour, and most recently at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. The 25-year-old appeared as the character Jo Calderone for the entire evening, opening the show with a long monologue and performance of ‘You and I.’
