Katy Perry Says Competition Can Ruin Why We Love Music

In this week's edition of Entertainment Weekly (Nov. 1, 2013) Katy Perry tells the mag that fans creating competition between her and Lady Gaga is not what she's into, and that she and Ma Monster want to downplay it, especially in public.

 “Gaga and I like to publicly dismiss it because it’s not healthy. You want to feel music. You want it to resonate and relate to you. You can’t look at it like a competition because you ruin the reason why you love music. But I think that sometimes our fan groups are so big and strong, they use it as ammunition.”

Katy's Prism came in at number 1 this week, and she's on the cover of EW. She goes deep in the article, talking about songs on her record, her relationship with John Mayer, and Miley Cyrus.
