Wear pink, and be ready to go fast.

Or slow. It doesn't matter. There are some runners at the annual Hope Live Pink Boa 5k that finish quickly. Most come in at a medium pace, and there is a large number of people who walk.

Like many 5k's, it's not really about the 5k.

Still, this is a great 5k. Led by survivors, and held to raise money and awareness for breast cancer, it's not hard to be happy to be awake and alive at this great run.

I've been hosting and helping to hand out awards for this run for a few years now, and one of these years, I'll run it. This year, I'll be there to call out the times of the participants as they cross the lines and to support this great cause for Fort Collins.

I'm sure people will be asking me if I'll shave my head again at the annual Hope Lives gala in October. The answer is maybe. I know one thing, if I do, it's going to cost the donating public more than $10,000! (We reached it way too easily last year. :)
