Jim Carrey once reportedly wrote himself a check for $10 million.

When he did it, he had little success and no money in the bank. He post dated it, and when the day came, the money to cover the check was in the bank.

He is an inspiration, and it seems like he sums up all of his success in this speech that he made at the Maharishi University of Management earlier this year.

There are many highlights. Here are some of my favs.

He spoke of his father, who he said could have been a great comedian, but instead chose the 'safe' route of being an accountant. When Jim was 12, his dad was let go from that 'safe' job.

You can fail at what you don't want, so you might as well take a chance on doing what you love.

About risk, he says this.

To find real peace you have to let the armor go. Risk being seen in all of your glory.

He claims his success came from dreaming of his success.

I just want you to relax and dream up a good life.

How, exactly, did he do that?

As far as I can tell, it's about letting the Universe know what you want, and working toward it, while letting go of how it comes to pass.

And in closing, he said this.

Choose love, and don't ever let fear turn you against your playful heart.
