Is the Colorado Cherry Company Still Standing After the Big Thompson Flood of 2013?

After we wrote stories about the Dam Store and Indian Village in Thompson Canyon, lots of you wanted to know if the "Cherry Store" or Colorado Cherry Company as it's formally named, made it through the flood. We searched around a bit and were able to come up with a verdict on this popular store as well.

This map gives you and idea of the store's location on what is now left of Highway 34 in Thompson Canyon.

Fortunately we have some great news; while not many structures in Thompson Canyon made it through the floods, one the Colorado Cherry Company did! The store posted the following message to their facebook page confirming that everything is just fine despite the highway being washed away. Thank goodness we will still be able to get some tasty little bites on our way up to Estes Park in the future!
