Is the ‘American Dream’ Changing?

In a tougher job market and tighter economy, I hear many different stories of struggle and shifting of plans. Many college graduates and young professionals are living with several roommates or even moving back in with their parents to save money. 

Today, I came across an announcement about a documentary that will be shown Wednesday at a Greeley school. The documentary looks at how the American Dream is changing. So is the American Dream drastically different than it was 10 years ago?

America’s Daydream is a UNC student produced documentary exploring the American Dream in our community and surrounding areas—focusing on how the American Dream has evolved over the years. The students interview and showcase community members and discuss their reality of the “American Dream” in the United States.

Featured in the documentary are students from J Evans IB Middle School’s Newcomer Program. We would like to invite the community to a viewing on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at 5:00 P.M. in the J Evans Cafeteria.
