I grew up in Loveland. It’s a great town. But, just like every town, it has its ‘Well, I wouldn’t CHOOSE to live there…” part of town. Butternut Drive is that part of town for Loveland. Do you agree?

When I heard the news of a woman being murdered in Loveland, I was saddened. When I heard that the woman lived on the “3600 block of Butternut Drive”, I was somehow not surprised.

While growing up in Loveland, I lived in five different places on Butternut Drive. One of the places was not far from where Angela Howard was found dead on February 1st, 2015. As a matter of fact, a good friend of mine once lived in the same exact apartment as Angela. Weird.

Most days and nights were very quiet while I grew up on Butternut. Other days and nights….not so much. I remember one night, when our electricity had been turned off, we almost burned the apartment down using a camp lantern. That was just MY crazy family.

What is it exactly about that street? Is it the amount of apartments on one street? Is it because it’s close to the railroad tracks? Is it because it’s tucked away behind all the other streets? I don’t know, but trouble just seems to go down on ol’ Butternut Drive. Ninety percent of the folks that live on that street lead happy, fulfilling lives. The other ten percent, that seem to drift in and out of Butternut Drive, just seem to have trouble.

Murder is a huge event in Loveland. It doesn’t happen all that much. Like I said, Loveland is a great town. I love it. But if someone were to ask me about moving to Loveland, the first thing I’d say is – “Stay away from Butternut Drive”.
