An inmate in the custody of the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office is accused of assaulting two deputies at the Larimer County Justice Center.

According to the Larimer County Sheriff's Office, Kayla Perez began to argue with the judge. Two deputies escorted her out of the courtroom due to her behavior. As she was being moved out of the courtroom, she was able to free one hand from the handcuffs she was in and began fighting with both deputies.

Additional deputies responded and Perez was secured and transported back to the Larimer County Jail. The inmate was uninjured during this incident, but she inflicted minor injuries to both deputies involved in the initial assault. Perez will be charged with Second Degree Assault on a Peace Officer, a class 4 Felony.
