I'm a pretty adventurous guy, so when I won't even think about trying an activity, that may be a good indication that it is going to be fun to watch.

One thing I won't try because I'm afraid I'll kill myself? Ice racing. Yeah. I said 'ice racing'. Looney.

You've heard about how they treat downhill skiing courses with water to ice it up, right? Well, this is pure ice. On machines with motors. And razor sharp studs coming out of their tires.

It's insane to even think about participating in, and is a feat of great athleticism. Riding the four wheelers is one thing. The motorcycles are a whole other animal. To keep those things upright requires so much strength and balance when they aren't on the ice.

Do people fall off their bikes and risk getting run over by tires with razor sharp studs? Yes, they do.

According to racer Daniel Bergquist;

The first corner is definitely the treacherous one, when everyone is bottlenecking in.

What's the most dangerous part after that? The rest of the race, I would guess.

It's not even like they are racing on mud treated with water. This is a pure sheet of ice that the nights before and the nights after are used for hockey teams.

They mix it up and bring even more fun into the situation by racing on barstools and go karts, so it's not just an adrenaline fueled craze fest.
