$50,000 is a lot of money to raise. I will get it raised but not without your help and our veterans are worth every dollar. This video I did will explain everything in detail.

It's a tall order raising $50,000. In fact, I'm not sure what's tougher; raising $50,000 or riding 10,000 miles in 10 days. Last year I did this fundraiser to raise money for Honor Flight Northern Colorado to help send World War II, Korea and Vietnam veterans to Washington D.C. to go see the memorials that have been built in their honor. It takes a $1000 to send a veteran from here in Northern Colorado and I am doing my best, with your help, to send as many as possible.

This will be my last attempt at doing the Iron Butt 10/10ths ride, that is 10,000 miles in 240 hours. The mileage/time equation is a very difficult one to solve but I will solve the equation and with your help, we will send 50 veterans to Washington D.C. on the September Honor Flight.

I am asking everyone reading this to sponsor some miles. It's a $1 per mile and you can sponsor 10, 50, 100, 1000 or any increment in between. One friend last year sponsored $129; $1 for every person he served with on his submarine while serving in the United States Navy. Scott Wiles, from California, will be riding with me from Coalinga, California to Las Vegas which is about 269 miles, so he is donating that mileage, or, $269. Others are sponsoring miles for a family member who has served in a past or current conflict and others are sponsoring miles just to support our veterans and their way of saying "thank you."

We'd like to see you sponsor some miles today and then you can pay for them whenever you can...you have till June. Sponsoring miles now will make it easier on those of us keeping track of the accounting so it doesn't all come in at once in April and May. Step up to the plate today and commit to some miles.

The video below tells the story of why I came up with this idea and also how to go about sponsoring miles. You can also click here for a detailed written version of ways to donate and contact information. If you have Facebook, go ahead and just click here, then click on the "about" section of the ride page (make sure to click on "see more" on the about section) and all the information you will need is there as well.
