The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will be offering disaster relief assistance to residents affected by the floods in Colorado, to get assistance from FEMA follow these steps.

15 counties on Colorado's Front Range are affected by the severe storms, flooding, landslides and mudslides and federal assistance will available to individuals for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses, and other programs to help individuals and business owners in their recovery.

First, make sure you qualify by checking the FEMA website to see if you are in an affected area. You'll want to make sure that you qualify for housing and other relief needs before you apply.

What Information Will FEMA Need?

When applying make sure you have a pen and paper ready to take down information. You'll need to supply FEMA with the following:

  • Your Social Security number
  • Current and pre-disaster address
  • A telephone number where you can be contacted
  • Insurance information
  • Total household annual income
  • A description of your losses that were caused by the disaster
  • Your bank account information for transferring funds

How to Apply for FEMA Assistance

There are three ways you can apply for assistance, at DisasterAssistance.gov, on your smartphone or by calling 800-621-3362.

You can also visit a Disaster Recovery Center to get more information about FEMA or other disaster assistance programs, or for questions related to your case.
