Like it or not, there is no denying that legalizing marijuana in Colorado has brought a lot of money to a lot of people including the state. However, as I was watching Jimmy Kimmel last night I heard him say just how many jobs weed has brought to the state, and I was so surprised I had to look into it.

Turns out the number Kimmel said on his show was indeed correct...  A report by the Marijuana Industry Group indicates that since January, the state’s recreational pot trade has created in upwards of 10,000 new jobs, with 2,000 joining the workforce just in the past few months.

Oh by the way, Colorado’s unemployment rate recently dropped to the lowest it's been since the recession. Coincidence? I think not!

Retail weed sales are generating nearly $19 million a month. I am sure there are a few more people on unemployment that wouldn't mind a piece of that pie! Look for this number to keep growing, and that is a good thing.

High five Colorado!
