When you think of the high cost of living in Colorado, do you take your property taxes into consideration? A new study shows how Colorado's property taxes compare to the rest of the country. To my surprise, as expensive as it is to live in Colorado, I was shocked to discover that Colorado's property taxes are not only reasonable, but on the lower end of the nations average. According to the Tax Foundation, New Jersey has the highest effective rate at 2.38%, followed by Illinois at 2.32%, New Hampshire at 2.15% and Connecticut at 1.98%. Colorado came in just a little higher than the lowest states at 0.61%... just above Delaware at 0.55%, Louisiana at 0.51%, Alabama at 0.43% and Hawaii at an astonishing 0.28%.

So what do you think, are you happy with the property tax rate of Colorado, or should we look at lowering or raising it based on our needs?
