Highway 14 Closed Due to Mudslide [Official Information – 7:08am]

A mudslide has closed a highway near the High Park burn area. Colorado Highway 14 is closed in both directions approximately six miles west of Ted's Place.

The High Park Fire has burned about 136 square miles since June 9.

Charred hillsides are vulnerable to erosion and flooding during downpours because they have less vegetation to soak up rain, and burned soils can repel water.
